About Bloodstock

At about 20,000 capacity, Bloodstock 2027 puts heavy metal and heavy rock at Catton Park, Derbyshire. The event began in 2001 as Bloodstock Indoor Festival at Derby Assembly Rooms, where Saxon was the first confirmed headliner. Open Air replaced the indoor format in 2005.

The festival bills itself as the UK's biggest independent metal festival. It runs 5-8 August 2027 at Catton Park, Walton-on-Trent, Derbyshire, DE12 8LN.

Lineup and Programme

The bill leans into heavy metal, heavy rock and rock. Announced acts include Motionless In White.

Stage names listed by the festival are Ronnie James Dio Stage, Sophie Lancaster Stage, New Blood Stage, Emp Stage and Serpents Lair VIP Stage. Metal 2 The Masses gives grassroots bands a route onto the New Blood Stage.

Late-night entertainment centres on the Sophie Lancaster Tent, with the Late Night Bar open until 02:00. The signing tent is listed for artist meets. The arena also lists a food market and bars.

Who Is It For?

Bloodstock is all ages, with under-16s required to be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. The festival says it is for fans of heavy rock and metal.

It also states that no facilities or entertainment are specifically designed for children. Ragnarok is listed as the quiet and family campsite, while Midgard is adults-oriented and includes a 16+ cinema.

The Venue and Site

Catton Park sits at Walton-on-Trent between Lichfield, Burton-on-Trent and Tamworth. On-site camping is a core part of the event.

Eight standard campsites are listed: Asgard, Hel, Midgard, Valhalla, Ironwood, Ragnarok, Jotunheim and Kyrr. Serpents Lair VIP and a campervan site sit alongside them.

Facilities listed include free water points, accessible toilets across the arena and campsites, and a 24-hour medical and welfare tent in the main arena. Lemmy's Bar and Serpents Lair hospitality bar are named in the festival's real-ale offer.

Showers are in Midgard campsite, priced at £5 and open Thursday to Sunday 7am-7pm and Monday 7am-10am. Lockers and phone charging are listed at multiple site locations, with festival supermarkets in Midgard and by the Sophie Lancaster stage.
