The Acacia Strain

The Acacia Strain is an American metal group from Chicopee, Massachusetts, active since 2001 and now based in Albany, New York. The original lineup includes Vincent Bennett, Christopher Daniele, Ben Abert and Karrie Whitfield, who are described as high school friends. Bennett remains the only original member still active in the band.

Career

Daniel Laskiewicz and Daniel Daponde join the group shortly after it forms. The Acacia Strain releases its debut full-length album, ...And Life Is Very Long, in 2002 through Devil's Head Records. The band then issues eleven further studio albums, becoming a regular presence in deathcore and metalcore. It is signed to Rise Records and is associated with atmospheric sludge metal, death metal, deathcore, doom metal, downtempo deathcore and metal.
