Brat

Brat is a Swedish jazz quartet. The group is based in Trondheim, Norway and consists of Eirik Hegdal and Kjetil Møster on saxophone, Ole Morten Vågan on double bass and Ole Thomas Kolberg on drums. It appears in the context of several other acts with the same name, but this Brat is the jazz ensemble.

Style and activity

The group describes its music as “spontaneous groove-jazz” and combines improvisation with set pieces. Its sound sits in the area of freeform jazz and structured ensemble playing.

History and releases

Brat makes its debut at the Norwegian music festival by:Larm in 2003. In 2005, it releases the album Please Don’t Shoot.
