By road, the site is easily reached from the south via the M5 motorway. From Bristol (about 60 miles away) it’s typically a 1.5–2 hour drive: head north on the M5 and take Junction 25 (Taunton), then continue on the A358 and A39 toward Minehead. From further afield, the M5 also connects directly to the A39 (via Junction 24) if you’re coming from the Midlands or North. Follow signs for Minehead and the resort on Warren Road as you near the coast. Once you arrive, you’ll find plenty of free parking on site, so you can leave your car safely while enjoying the weekend. The drive itself is quite scenic, especially along the coastal A39, so consider leaving early to soak in the views.
By public transport, note that Minehead doesn’t have a mainline train service. The nearest national rail station is Taunton (about 23 miles away, roughly 40 minutes by road). From Taunton station, catch the direct bus to Minehead – for example National Express Route 28 stops near the holiday camp on Warren Road (the journey is around 45–50 minutes). Taxis are also available from Taunton if you prefer a faster or more private transfer. There is a heritage railway running into Minehead from Bishops Lydeard, but it typically operates only in tourist season, so it’s best to rely on bus or car connections.
If you’re flying in, the closest major airport is Bristol (about 60 miles, roughly 1.5–2 hours by car). Other options are Exeter Airport (similar distance) or Cardiff Airport (about 80 miles away). Travelers can rent a car at the airport and follow the road directions above. Alternatively, take public transport: from Bristol Airport, for example, you could take a coach or train to Bristol Temple Meads, then a train to Taunton, and finally the Taunton-to-Minehead bus. This journey can take around 3–4 hours total. Planning ahead with train/bus schedules (and considering time for transfers) will ensure you reach the coast smoothly.
For accommodation, many guests choose to stay on-site at the holiday resort, which offers chalets, apartments and hotel rooms (often available to book with ticket packages). If you prefer other lodging, central Minehead has a variety of hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs within easy reach. You might also find cottages or inns in the nearby Exmoor countryside if you don’t mind a short drive. It’s wise to book well in advance, as winter events can fill up rooms quickly. Staying in Minehead or at the resort means you’ll be only minutes from the weekend’s activities, and you’ll get to enjoy the seaside town’s pubs, cafes and shops when you take a break from the music.
