About Download Festival
Download Festival 2027 runs from 9 to 13 June 2027 at Donington Park, Castle Donington, Derbyshire, as a rock, metal and punk music festival.
2003 was the first edition, held across 2 days and 2 stages. The festival expanded from 2 days to 3 days in 2005, and the 2025 edition marked 22 years of Download Festival.
Donington Park is the former Monsters of Rock site, and Download is listed as the UK’s largest rock festival with an approximate 80,000 capacity.
Lineup and Programme
The programme is built around rock, metal and punk across named stages including Apex Stage, Opus Stage, Avalanche Stage, Hellfire Stage, Dogtooth Stage, Doghouse, The Den and The Outpost. 2025 figures recorded 9 stages and more than 120 artists.
District X adds off-stage entertainment including cinema screenings, a funfair, Heavy Metal Sports, axe-throwing, Bongo’s Bingo, silent discos, DJ sets, comedy and live shows.
Who Is It For?
Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 5 enter free.
The festival is aimed at all-ages rock and metal fans, with a family and kids area that includes Rock Kids concerts and music workshops.
The Venue and Site
Donington Park is a motor-racing circuit in Castle Donington, with infield and outfield performance areas.
The site covers around 932 acres. Camping options include general camping zones, Eco, Quiet and Campervan areas, glamping options such as Camping Plus and Circular Camping, and VIP RIP campsites including Park Farm, Sleepy Hollow and Metal Meadow.
Facilities include food markets and vendors, bars including a beer hall, cocktail bars and Bar Zero, plus on-site shops and cashpoints. 2025 site figures listed more than 160 food and drink vendors.
