I Prevail is an American metalcore band from Southfield, Michigan, formed in 2013 and active since then. The group’s lineup includes SCATTERBRAIN, Brian Burkheiser, Dylan Bowman, Gabe Helguera, Steve Menoian and Eric Vanlerberghe. Its music sits within alternative metal, metal, metalcore, post-hardcore and rock.

Early releases and breakthrough

The band releases its first EP, Heart vs Mind, in 2014. In the same year, it gains wider attention with a cover of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, which reaches platinum certification in the United States.

Albums and chart success

I Prevail releases Lifelines in 2016, which reaches number 15 on the Billboard 200. Its next album, Trauma, arrives in 2019 and becomes its most successful release. The album receives a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album, and its first single, Bow Down, is nominated for Best Metal Performance. The band follows this with True Power in 2022.

Singles and live recognition

Four of the band’s songs reach the top 10 of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Hurricane, released in 2019, reaches number one.
