Orbit Culture

Orbit Culture is a melodic death metal and groove metal group from Eksjö, Sweden. The band forms in 2013 around singer and rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlsson and lead guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister, who develop the project from rough home demos. Zinsmeister is then playing with another local band, Abstract Noise, alongside drummer Markus Bladh, and he brings Bladh into Orbit Culture before Christoffer Olsson joins on bass.

Early releases

Shortly after forming, the band begins work on its debut EP. The recording is completed in August 2013, with the songs tracked in an old power plant in the band’s hometown. Niklas Karlsson handles the mixing and mastering. The EP is later re-released after the band receives positive national and international response.

Albums

Orbit Culture’s first full-length album, In Medias Res, arrives in 2014. The record is built around a concept of war between humans and machines. After Zinsmeister leaves the group, the band continues writing and recording new material, resulting in Rasen after an extended period of work on heavier songs.

The group is active from 2013 to the present and its members include Maximilian Zinsmeister, Christoffer Olsson, Markus Bladh, Niklas Karlsson, Richard Hansson, Fredrik Lennartsson and Christopher Wallerstedt.
