Bilmuri

Bilmuri is the solo project of Johnny Franck, a musician from Columbus, United States, who was born in 1990. The project begins in 2016 and is a US post-hardcore and pop-punk act that also sits within alternative rock, alternative pop, indie rock and alternative metal.

Background

Franck, a former member of Attack Attack!, starts Bilmuri as a one-man project. The name is an abbreviated parody of the comedian and actor Bill Murray. The act’s releases include the debut material Jaguar Shark and Letters, along with a self-titled album in 2016.

Releases

In 2017, Bilmuri follows with Frame and Banana, and in 2018 with Taco and Solid Chub. The 2019 releases Pasteurized Milk, Wet Milk and Rich Sips continue the project’s output and build its audience. A single from Rich Sips, Thicc Thiccly, features Caleb Shomo, Franck’s former Attack Attack! bandmate and the vocalist of Beartooth, and plays on the title of Attack Attack!’s Stick Stickly.

Collaborations and later work

In 2020, Bilmuri releases the collaborative EP Bilmuri and Friends, also shortened to Muri and Friends, with contributions from Dayseeker, No Dice, Tilian Pearson, Jonathan Young, Lauren Babic, Surf Team and Whale Bones. This is followed by 400LB BACK SQUAT in 2021 and GOBLIN HOURS in 2022.
