Turnstile

Turnstile is a Spanish punk-rock band. It is a group with a hardcore punk foundation, and it also draws on post-hardcore, alternative rock, punk, and hardcore.

Formation and line-up

The band forms in Baltimore, Maryland in 2010. Its current line-up includes Brendan Yates on vocals, Daniel Fang on drums, Franz Lyons on bass, Pat McCrory on guitar, and Meg Mills on guitar. Former members include Sean Cullen and Brady Ebert, both on guitar.

Releases and style

Turnstile releases four studio albums: Nonstop Feeling, Time & Space, Glow On, and Never Enough. It also releases the EPs Pressure to Succeed and Step 2 Rhythm. The band appears on the Extermination EP alongside other hardcore and metal acts, including Suburban Scum.

The band is signed to Reaper Records. Its early work, including Nonstop Feeling, marks a move towards a more experimental approach, which continues on Glow On.

Musical influences

Turnstile is influenced by New York hardcore bands such as Madball and Breakdown. Its sound also includes elements of 1990s alternative metal and alternative rock, grunge revival, 1960s soul and R&B, and art rock, giving it a distinctive, groovy style.
