The John Peel Festival of New Music

The John Peel Festival of New Music 2012 is a festival dedicated to the legendary DJ John Peel and takes place from Friday 11th through to Sunday 13th October at various locations throughout Norwich.  The three-day conference/live music showcase will see around 100 new bands play in ten venues over the three nights.  There are a few well known acts performing but the festival will focus more on emerging talent - "Each of these acts that we all liked from the past were a new band at some point trying to elbow their way in, and that is what John Peel represented – getting new music through to people", organisers said.  Proceeds from the festival will go to the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in Stowmarket.

Artists include Arhai, Bwani Junction, Cate Ferris, Cold Specks, Crystal Bats, Dad Rocks, Dam Mantle, Dave Gerard and the Watchmen, Deaf Club, Errors, Franko Fraiz, Girl in a Thunderbolt, Heart Of A Dog, Hey Sholay, Honeyslide, Jessica Alice, King Laconic, Liars, Luke Abbott, Magic Panda, Mary Epworth And The Jubilee Band, Matthew P, Mayday Parade, Milly Hirst, Natives, Octagon Court, Port Isla, Public Service Broadcasting, Reckless Love, Rozi Plain, Tall Ships, The Little Unsaid, The Neutrinos, The Summer Set, The Way Home, Tom Pearce, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Virals and vuvuVultures
