Reckless Love

Reckless Love is a Finnish glam metal and hard rock group formed in 2001. The band develops a reputation as a live act through years of small-scale touring and several line-up changes before reaching its later established form. It moves from Kuopio to Helsinki in pursuit of a career in rock music and signs a worldwide recording deal with Universal Music during the making of its debut album.

Style and influences

The band plays a style rooted in 1980s hair metal and related hard rock. Its sound draws on artists such as Kiss, Van Halen, W.A.S.P., Warrant, Poison, Guns N' Roses, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and Ratt. The songs combine melodic hard rock with flashy, party-oriented lyrics and a more aggressive heavy metal edge in some tracks, along with prominent guitar work, choirs, clean high vocals and keyboard arrangements.

Early releases and debut album

Before its debut album, Reckless Love records four demos and releases two singles, One More Time and Beautiful Bomb. The debut album features songs including Beautiful Bomb, One More Time, Love Machine, So Yeah!!, Feel My Heat, Born To Rock, Wild Touch, Badass, Romance, Sex and Back To Paradise. The group is described as being able to balance energetic, boisterous tracks with darker and more theatrical material.

Later activity

The band remains active from 2001 onward and is associated with Spinefarm Records. Its members are Olli Herman, Pepe Reckless, Jalle Verne and Hessu Maxx. In 2016 it releases InVader, and the album Turborider also forms part of its recorded output. In 2024 the group announces a break from touring and recording after Olli Herman joins Popeda, and Hessu Maxx leaves the band.
