Virals

Virals is a UK group led by Shaun Hencher, who previously fronts Lovvers. The project marks a new phase for Hencher after that band ends, with him writing, playing and recording most of the material himself.

Style and approach

The music draws on a bright, sunlit American influence while keeping an English character. It is associated with shoegaze, indie, indie pop and noise rock, and the songs are described as showing a strong melodic focus.

Releases

Virals first appears with a two-track 7-inch single on Sexbeat in February 2012. That release is followed by a four-track 12-inch EP on Tough Love. The EP is issued on limited-edition red vinyl and as a digital download.

Context

The project is presented as Shaun Hencher’s latest work after Lovvers, and it operates as a largely self-directed recording and writing outlet.
