About Slam Dunk Festival - South
Born in Leeds as a single-stage event in 2006, Slam Dunk Festival - South 2027 brings a one-day alternative music event to Hatfield Park, Hatfield, covering emo, pop-punk, metalcore, ska and rock.
The South date was added in 2010 as part of a Hatfield and University of Hertfordshire twin-event format. The format stuck. The South edition ran at Hatfield Park in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Who Is It For?
The audience is all ages, with the strongest pull for emo, pop-punk, metalcore and ska fans.
Under-5s go free; anyone aged 5 or over needs a full ticket. The organiser states there are no activities or entertainment directly for children.
The Venue and Site
Hatfield Park sets the South edition inside the estate grounds, with pedestrian access opposite Hatfield railway station.
The event runs for one day and has no camping. A 2023 residents letter gave Slam Dunk Festival South a maximum capacity of 27,000, plus staff and artists.
Access facilities listed for the site include raised viewing platforms at each stage, accessible toilets and Changing Places units. Lowered bar service areas and an onsite Access Hub are also listed.
