Overgrown
Overgrown is a group formed in 2004, beginning with four musicians in a small attic: Marty on vocals and bass, Jerry on guitar, Jack on drums and Lex on guitar. The band plays rock music and builds its reputation through live shows and self-organised touring.
History and live activity
In its first few years, Overgrown performs more than 40 shows and supports acts including The Apers and Zebrahead at a sold-out Tivoli. The group also shares stages with Peter Pan Speedrock, Van Katoen, Intwine and Within Temptation, and appears at venues including Mezz, Bibelot, Speakers, Tivoli, Waterfront and 013.
The band also tours the UK in August 2007, organising the run itself and playing dates in Coventry, Newport, Wakefield, Doncaster and London alongside the Northern Irish band Ignition. Those performances help the group develop a stronger live foundation.
Releases
Overgrown releases a demo titled Overgrown Demo in 2005, followed by the Endless Roads EP in 2006 and the single Chill before serving in 2007.
Reception
Coverage around the band highlights its riffs, live performances and musicianship, with commentary noting the group’s strong stage presence and technical ability.
