Amira Elfeky is an American heavy metal singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. Her work sits across emo, gothic rock, nu metal, post-hardcore and rock, and she is also described as working in alternative metal and alternative rock.

Background

Elfeky is American-Egyptian. Although she is based in Los Angeles, she is originally from Connecticut. She becomes active as a singer-songwriter after meeting producer and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Iljas in 2017.

Collaboration and recording

Elfeky and Iljas begin working together after she posts a “drummer wanted” advert. Together they create several tracks in Iljas’s DIY bedroom studio in San Francisco. Their production approach combines synth and guitar textures associated with lo-fi bedroom pop, modern vocals and boom bap-style drums.
