STAYING GREEN
GREEN TRAVEL
With such a large amount of people travelling to/from the festival, transportation makes up a huge portion of our total carbon emissions. You can save money, help the environment, and make friends by using either of these travel schemes:
Liftshare is a great way of alleviating some stress from your journey while reducing road congestion and pollution – not to mention the cost!
NO GLASS POLICY
No glass is permitted on the festival site. Not only does this protect the festival site but it also protects you from potentially harming yourself. Please decant any liquids you plan to bring from glass bottles into plastic ones before you arrive.
GREEN CAMPING
On arrival to the site you will be given a clear plastic bag for recycling. Please use it. You’ll help keep our site clean and keep Texfest green! When you have filled you bag, bring it to any of the recycling points on the map, where you can exchange it for a new one. Please use your own bin bags for general waste.
Recyclable Waste – Aluminium cans, plastic bottles, , newspapers, cardboard, magazines.
COMPOST IT
There will be a number of food waste bins around the festival for you to discard any of your recyclable food waste. Please no plastic though!
TAKE YOUR BELONGINGS HOME
If you would like to hire a tent rather than bring your own, hire tents are available here Pop up Hotel.
Please pack light and remember that everything you bring with you, you need to take home again. You won’t be so happy to drag everything back to the car with you come Monday.
If you have any broken camping equipment, be it chairs, gazebos, tents, empty batteries, please donate them to the Recycling Points so we can deal with them properly.
If you would like to donate your tent to charity, please pack it up at the end of the festival and take it to your local charity shop. Please don’t leave it in the field.
