Beans on Toast, also known as Jay MacCallister, is a British folk singer-songwriter from Braintree in the United Kingdom, originally from Essex. Born in 1980, he emerges from the UK folk scene in 2005 and builds a reputation for direct, self-deprecating songwriting.
Style and themes
His songs deal openly with politics, drugs and love, and he describes his writing as using similar chord structures across songs. He is also associated with a sound compared with Billy Bragg.
