There are at least four bands that go by this name, one Norwegian, one British and two American:
1) The South is a southern rock-band from Trondheim, Norway.
Members: Alexander Pettersen, Terje Uv, Pål Brekkås, Stian Lundberg, Stein Spjelkavik and Sander Stedenfeldt Olsen. They released their debut album "A Place To Start," on the label MBN in march 2009.
Their second album "The South" is scheduled for release the 16th of march 2012, on Universal Music, Norway
2) The South is a band consisting of former The Beautiful South members Dave Hemmingway, Alison Wheeler, Dave Stead, Damon Butcher and others; they released their first album "Sweet Refrains" in 2012.
3) The South were a hardcore band from St Augustine, FL. Members went on to be in Environmental Youth Crunch, In Danger Of Dead, Tubers, Solid Pony, Centipede, Alligator, and more. They've played 2 reunion shows since doing their farewell caravan tour July9-11th, 2004.
Calling them "anarko-skram" is an insult to anybody that listens to music.
4) The South of Dallas Texas. A hard rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock band. We're no longer releasing anything new under this name.
