DJ EZ is a UK garage DJ and producer from the United Kingdom, originally from Tottenham in North London. He is known for specialising in UK garage and is widely regarded as one of the leading DJs in the genre.

Career

EZ begins his radio career in 1989, when he is 15 and performs under the name Easy O on the pirate station Dance 93FM. He plays house music there for four years. In early 1994, he sets up his own Tottenham-based pirate station, Dimension FM, which focuses mainly on hardcore dance music, rave and house. The station is shut down by the authorities after a short run.

He later joins another pirate station, Freek 101.8 FM, where he presents a four-hour weekend morning show. During this period he changes his name from Easy O to EZ. As his profile grows, he receives extra airtime and becomes part of the station’s management team.

Club work

DJ EZ also starts a weekly club night called Club Z at the Gas Club in central London. His bookings increase significantly and he plays multiple clubs each weekend.
