About Tunes in the Dunes
For 2027, Tunes in the Dunes runs on Perranporth Beach, Cornwall, as a beach music festival spanning indie rock and electronic music. Tunes in the Dunes Ltd was incorporated in 2014, and the first Perranporth Beach edition followed in 2015. It started small. The founder said the first year drew about 5,000 people on the Saturday.
Lineup and Programme
Two stages are named: Main Stage and Second Stage. The bill draws from indie rock and dance/electronic, with country and roots in the programming too. Folk, soul, swing/jazz and pop also sit within the festival’s stated genres. Stage times are published by stage on the festival site.
Beyond live sets, the programme includes camping, campervans and glamping. VIP arena upgrades include access to a viewing platform, with VIP bars and toilets plus food provision. After-parties are held nightly at The Watering Hole on Perranporth Beach.
Who Is It For?
The crowd is mixed-age and heavily non-local; the founder said more than 75% of ticket buyers come from outside Cornwall. Families are welcome. Under-18s need the correct wristband, must enter with a parent or guardian, and have no re-entry. One parent or guardian may accompany a maximum of two under-18s.
The Venue and Site
The site sits directly on Perranporth Beach. The campsite sits at Perranporth Airfield at the top of St George’s Hill. Shuttle buses run to Perranporth Beach car park, followed by a 600m walk across the beach from the drop-off point.
Facilities listed for the campsite include showers, toilets, clean running water and 24-hour security. Fire safety, phone charging, food vendors and campsite parking are also listed. Dogs are not allowed at the campsite.
