From Plymouth, UK Mad Dog Mcrea blend a unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and 'shake your ass' music. From self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, to traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies - Mad Dog never fail to capture their audience with their infectious songs.
The band have recently returned from their first major UK tour spreading the Mad Dog word across the country from The Isle of Sky to Lands End! Their recent acclaimed album “The Whirling Dervish”, as championed by Mike Harding on Radio 2 has become an underground classic winning the best album of the year 2012 at The South West Music Awards. The band were sent out on their SECOND major UK tour of 2012 in November to spread the Mad Dog word further still, by the end of 2012 they will have clocked up well over 100 shows!
