The Orkney Folk Festival was first held in 1982 and has become a celebration of traditional Orkney music, dance and culture, for one weekend each May. It brings together musicians, storytellers, poets, dramatists, dancers and of course their audiences. The festival is held in Stromness and attracts many visitors as well as local.
The 36th festival will take place between May 24-27, 2018, with the first names expected to be announced around December this year.
