In 2006 a friend of the organisers died of cancer in America where he had been living. In order to pay tribute and keep the memory of him alive they held a special annual get together for his family and it extended to fellow soul enthusiasts.
The first summer solstice festival was held in 2007 at Barnet Elizabethans RFC and then it moved down the road to Gypsy Corner & Old Elizabethans Memorial Playing Fields.
Not only is it a good event for a great cause, but it is also a celebration of all things soulful.
