Ben Howard is an English singer-songwriter from London, who moves to Totnes in Devon in his teens. He grows up listening to records by singer-songwriters including Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and John Martyn, through his musically inclined parents, and begins writing his own songs while studying journalism before leaving that course to become a full-time musician in 2009.
After building a reputation through live shows across the UK, he signs to Island Records. His debut album, Every Kingdom, reaches number 7 on the UK album chart, sells more than a million copies worldwide and is nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. In 2012 he receives two Brit Awards, for British Breakthrough and British Solo Male Artist.
Howard follows it with I Forget Where We Were, released through Island Records and produced by Howard with his drummer Chris Bond at Start Point Farm Studios in Devon. He is associated with folk, acoustic and singer-songwriter material, as well as alternative rock, indie folk and indie rock.
