Friction

Friction is a Chicago indie, emo and punk group active from 1991 to 1994. The band is based in Chicago, United States, and features Bob Nanna, who sings and plays drums. The group is associated with the Midwest emo and midwest emo scene.

Bob Nanna also forms or has formed a number of other bands, including Braid, Hey Mercedes, Certain People I Know, The City on Film and Lifted Bells.

The name Friction is also used by several other acts in different countries and styles, including a Japanese no wave group, a drum and bass artist, an electronic and ambient project from London, and an underground rock band from Cleveland.
