Twisterella Festival was launched in 2014 and was the creation of Middlesbrough's most dynamic and forward thinking independent music promoters, Pay for the Piano and The Kids Are Solid Gold.
The festival takes place around the University area of town which is located on Linthorpe Road & Southfield Road, and the 1000 capacity festival utilises some of the well-established music venues including Teesside University Students' Union, The Keys and The Westgarth Social Club.
Some of the brightest emerging national and international music talents will perform across the stages showcasing both local and regional acts. Previous line-ups have included the likes of Clean Cut Kid, Spring King, Fickle Friends, Dream Wife, Fatherson, Black Honey, Cattle & Cane, Low Island, Sam Fender, Eliza and the Bear, Prides, Kyko, Beach Baby, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Jake Isaac, Pip Blom, Du Blonde, WHITE, Sweet Baboo, Neon Waltz, Menace Beach, Outlya, Hyde & Beast, LIFE, Skinny Girl Diet, Plastic Mermaids and PINS, to name but a few.
