About Manchester Punk Festival
Manchester Punk Festival 2027 puts punk rock and DIY punk across Manchester, England, over Easter weekend. The 26-28 March edition runs with over 140 acts across 7 venues. It began in 2015 after TNSrecords, Moving North and Anarchistic Undertones put the event together in late 2014.
The first edition ran at Sound Control. The 2026 programme described MPF as a totally DIY, grassroots event with zero sponsorship or handouts.
Lineup and Programme
The bill covers punk rock and DIY punk, with hardcore, ska-punk and folk-punk also in the programme. The Union is the main stage and wristband exchange. Gorilla and The Bread Shed are larger music rooms, while YES splits the programme between the Pink Room Almost Acoustic stage and the Basement.
Rebellion handles afterparties. Sandbar carries the Sober Social, Flour & Flagon has info stalls and The Salutation runs comedy, poetry and podcasts.
Who Is It For?
MPF is aimed at a DIY punk audience, with inclusion and safety messaging built into the event. The festival states a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination.
Venue age limits point to an older-teen and adult audience. The Union, Gorilla, The Bread Shed, Sandbar and The Salutation are 14+; YES, Rebellion and Flour & Flagon are 18+, and The Bread Shed afterparties are 18+.
The Venue and Site
The site is a city-centre circuit rather than a field. All venues are within walking distance, with The Union serving as the main stage, wristband exchange, merchandise area and pop-up record store.
The Union has a cloakroom for bags larger than A4 at £2 per item. Accessibility arrangements include accessible wristband collections, improved accessible wristbands and free carer tickets for anyone requiring a companion. YES has food and drink options including pizza, a beer garden and a roof terrace.
