Exeter hardcore group
The Exeter version of Rat Attack is a hardcore punk act from Southwest England. Little other detail is given about this lineup, beyond its place in the UK rock and punk scene and its association with hardcore, indie rock, pop, rock and rock and roll tags.
Other acts using the same name
One Rat Attack release name refers to former Ratt singer Stephen Pearcy, who re-records songs originally performed with Ratt and its earlier name Mickey Ratt. Because he does not have the legal rights to use the Ratt name, he issues those recordings under Rat Attack instead. The sole album includes guest appearances from former L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns and former Dokken guitarist George Lynch, and it consists of new recordings of older Ratt and Mickey Ratt material rather than new songs.
Another Rat Attack is a short-lived heavy metal band from Hawaii. It plays straight-ahead metal and issues only one self-financed album/demo in 1983. That release later becomes known as an early speed and power metal record and is reissued on CD with bonus tracks by Old Metal Records in 2008.
A further Rat Attack is a hardcore band from Algarve, Portugal.
