PMX

PMX is a punk group from Perth, Scotland. It is a four-piece melodic hardcore band that develops from a local punk and skate-punk context, and it is also described as part of the UK punk scene.

Career

The band spends around eight years together, during which it plays numerous shows and records several self-financed CDs. It builds a reputation as one of Scotland’s melodic punk acts and plays alongside Alexisonfire, Anti-Flag, OPM, Taking Back Sunday and Propagandhi.

PMX releases its debut album, Rise and Shine, on three independent labels: Bells On Records in Japan and Europe, Milk And Cookies in Canada, and Allstar-Recordings in the UK. To support the album, the quartet tours the UK, Canada and Europe.

In 2006, the band is selected for the Taste Of Chaos tour in Glasgow. It also wins Ernie Ball’s International Battle Of The Bands competition, receiving £10,000 worth of equipment from sponsors.

Later activity

After an eight-year hiatus, PMX returns in 2014 with The Ballad of Tony Montana, a 25-minute song released on Bells On Records in Japan. The band is also set to issue an EP titled Dark Days.
