About Liverpool Sound City

Founded in 2008 by Dave Pichilingi, Liverpool Sound City 2027 runs in Liverpool city centre as a multi-venue music festival focused on new music and industry programming.

The 2027 edition is scheduled for 1–2 May 2027, with the Sound City+ Conference on 30 April 2027. The official site says Sound City has passed 18 editions and welcomed more than 400,000 fans and key industry figures; a 2018 interview with MD Rebecca Ayres put attendance at around 6,000 people per day. The format is compact.

Lineup and Programme

With no single field site, Liverpool Sound City’s programme moves through rooms in the city centre. Named stages and venues include Grand Central - Main Stage, Arts Club Theatre, Arts Club Loft, Spanish Caravan, EBGB's, The Jacaranda, The Shipping Forecast and Kazimier Stockroom.

Live showcases run alongside Sound City+ conference panels and Q&As, plus workshops, networking sessions and artist development training. Stage-hopping is the point.
