Chester Folk Festival was first established in 1999 with the aim of giving the people of Cheshire and the surrounding areas the chance to experience a wide variety of folk music over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Even though it is not actually hosted in the city itself, it is held just down the road in the quaint and pretty town of Kelsall.
As well as music, there is dance bands and callers, ceilidhs and sing-a-rounds. There is also a whole host of child-focused entertainment and a range of workshops for visitors of all ages. If that wasn't enough, there is also many market stalls where you can buy handmade musical instruments and crafts.
So far, Merry Hell, Hannah James and GreenMatthews are among the artists announced who will be performing at the festival.
