Join us in the fields and woods of East Sussex for our three-day celebration of art, music, ideas and DIY spirit.

Brainchild Festival is our biggest project, bringing together 2000 people to share their talents and creative projects: to dance, talk, make friends, get inspired, try new things, and discover brilliant emerging artists in a fresh context.

This year, we are reinventing things a bit - all shall soon be revealed! What we can tell you for now is that we're running with a more artist-led approach to curation, bringing five stages to life with live music, DJ sets, discussions, jam sessions, film screenings, theatre shows, spoken word, open-mics, workshops and art installations by wonderful people.

Our festival is still entirely sponsor-free, not-for-profit and run by volunteers. We believe in the power of conversation and imagination to make change and create culture, and see the festival as an amazing opportunity to build community and connect people.

The festival has been built up over the past few years by friends of friends, growing organically from its size of 400 people when we started it on a shoe-string budget in our first year of university. Despite growing in size, it has maintained its open atmosphere and sense of community, and remains a space for everyone to find the space, inspiration, friends and collaborators to develop their ideas and projects.
