Skinny Lister
Skinny Lister is a British folk group from Greenwich, United Kingdom, active since 2009. It begins as a five-piece in London and later expands, with Dave Neale joining on drums in October 2013 to make the band a six-piece. The group’s membership also includes Sam Brace, Dan Heptinstall, Lorna Thomas, Max Thomas, Dan Gray, Michael Camino, Andy Black, Dave Neale, Thom Mills, Scott Milsom and Tim Hillsdon.
Career
The band plays the folk circuit and also appears at larger rock and festival events, including Download Festival. It tours across Europe and North America with Frank Turner, Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, and it also headlines its own shows at festivals and in larger venues. Between 2012 and 2014, the line-up changes several times.
Albums
Skinny Lister’s debut album, Forge & Flagon, is released in the UK and Europe in 2012, then in the USA in 2013 and in Japan later that year. Its second album, Down on Deptford Broadway, is recorded at Rockfield Studios in December 2013 and produced by Ted Hutt. The album is released in 2015. In 2016, the band records its third album, The Devil, the Heart, and the Fight, at The Silk Mill Studio in Newcastle Under Lyme with producer Tristan Ivemy. Its fourth album, The Story Is..., follows in 2018 and is produced and mixed by Barny Barnicott. In 2020, the band releases a fifth anniversary edition of Down on Deptford Broadway on yellow vinyl with download codes for demo versions of the twelve tracks.
