Shadow Child is the electronic production alias of English DJ Simon Neale, also known as Dave Spoon. He is from Portsmouth, United Kingdom, and was born in 1977.

As Shadow Child, Neale works in bass house, bassline, breakbeat, breaks, dance and deep house, and the project is also associated with UK garage, UK funky, future garage and funky house. The act is a side-project rather than a full band. It is linked to Food Music and was also signed to Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird imprint. The music combines bass music, house and drum and bass elements.
