Andy C, born Andrew Clarke, is a UK drum and bass DJ and producer from Walsall and Hornchurch. He is associated with drum and bass, jungle and electronic music, and is also linked in the broader dance music field to afro house, breakbeat, breaks, club and deep house.

Career

He is a pioneering drum and bass DJ who is active from the early 1990s, around the period when the genre emerges. He is known for fast mixing and often uses three turntables. His sets combine older drum and bass tracks with newer releases.

RAM Records

Andy C co-founds RAM Records with Ant Miles in 1992. The label is based in Hornchurch, Essex, and becomes closely associated with drum and bass. RAM Records includes artists and DJs such as Shimon, Red One, Moving Fusion and DJ Fresh, who is formerly part of Bad Company. Releases associated with the label include Night Breed’s “Pack of Wolves”, Fresh’s “Hooded”, Fresh’s “Capture the Flag” and Shimon’s “Grudge Match”.
