PRIMAL SCREAM HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED FOR ABSOLUTE RADIO SESSIONS AT HARD ROCK CAFE LONDON THURSDAY 19 SEPTEMBER

London, Thursday 29 August 2013: Absolute Radio and Hard Rock Cafe today announced that legendary rock and rollers Primal Scream will be the next act to perform an exclusive live set as part of the Absolute Radio Sessions at Hard Rock Cafe London on Thursday 19 September. The gig will be hosted by Absolute Radio’s Sarah Champion, and tickets can only be won by tuning into Absolute Radio, or online at Absolute radio.

Fronted by Bobby Gillespie, Primal Scream are best known for their anthemic hit album ‘Screamadelica’ and epic singles Rocks Off’, ‘Come Together’, ‘Loaded’, and ‘Country Girl’. The band recently stormed the Pyramid Stage at this years Glastonbury festival, cementing them as live music legends and one of the most exciting live acts of all time.

Primal Scream’s latest album ‘More Light’ was released in May 2013 to critical acclaim, with the first single "It's Alright, It's OK" being championed by Absolute Radio. Primal Scream recently announced a short UK tour in support of 'More Light', in December. The indie legends will play London’s Brixton Academy and Glasgow SECC, before finishing at Manchester Academy.

The gig will continue the legacy of phenomenal live music at the rock and roll hallowed grounds of Hard Rock Cafe London, which has seen acts such as Mystery Jets, Ben Howard, The Lumineers, Travis and The Vaccines play as part of the Absolute Radio sessions.

Absolute Radio DJ Sarah Champion said: “I can’t wait for this one. Primal Scream are such a great band and played a massive part in the soundtrack to my teenage years. They’re one of the best live acts around and to introduce them and watch them at the Hard Rock Cafe will be very special.”

Marc Carey, European Director of Marketing for Hard Rock Cafe International has said: "Hard Rock Cafe London is the ultimate rock and roll venue, the perfect match for Primal Scream – I'm sure this gig won't disappoint!"

Highlights from the gig will be played out on Absolute Radio on Monday 26 September. A video of the session will also be available to watch online at www.absoluteradio.co.uk
