Creamfields 2027 will debut Runway 2.0, a brand-new 20,000-capacity stage that merges two of the festival's best-loved arenas, Runway and HALO, into one. It arrives for Creamfields' 30-year celebration in Daresbury, Cheshire, from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 August 2027, across the August Bank Holiday weekend.
What is Runway 2.0 at Creamfields 2027?
Runway 2.0 is a hybrid of Creamfields' two outdoor showpiece stages. It takes Runway's signature structure, which juts out over the crowd, and drops it into HALO's vast circular arena. The DJ sits right at the centre of it all.
Runway first appeared in 2022 and became a fan favourite almost overnight. In 2025 it evolved into HALO, a 45-metre circular arena wrapped in 360-degree and overhead video, lighting and sound. Plenty of fans still missed the original, though. Creamfields says demand for Runway's return was overwhelming, so rather than choose between them, it has combined the two.
How big is the Runway 2.0 stage?
- Capacity: 20,000
- Footprint: 60m long by 40m wide
- Centrepiece: three 15-metre diamond structures lined with LED screens, suspended above the crowd
- Layout: HALO's circular arena combined with Runway's crowd-spanning structure
- Designer: Lucid Creates, the studio behind both Runway and HALO
The real upgrade is overhead. A more complex LED rig is designed to carry visuals, lighting and video from the stage itself up and across the three diamonds, so the whole arena becomes one moving canvas rather than a screen you stare at from the front. HALO's party trick was surrounding you. Runway 2.0 looks set to surround you and loom over your head at the same time.
Who designed Runway 2.0?
The stage comes from award-winning creative studio Lucid Creates, which has worked with Creamfields since 2022 and designed both the original Runway and HALO. The festival is calling Runway 2.0 the most ambitious version of the concept yet, and one of the biggest stage developments in its history. That's bold talk from a festival whose stage list already includes APEX, but on paper the specs back it up.
When is Creamfields 2027 and who's playing?
Creamfields 2027 takes place from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 August 2027 at its usual home in Daresbury, Cheshire, marking 30 years of the UK's biggest dance music festival.
The line-up is still landing in waves. The Prodigy are confirmed to headline the APEX stage, while Josh Baker, KETTAMA and Prospa will play a back-to-back headline set on the ARC stage on Friday 27 August. Hannah Laing, Jamie Jones and Marco Carola are also booked. The Runway 2.0 announcement didn't name any acts for the new stage, so who gets to break it in is still anyone's guess.
How do I get Creamfields 2027 tickets?
