Entering its ninth year, and open until 5 January 2014, the rink will offer more people than ever before the chance to enjoy the Capital’s most magical skating experience.
Set within the beautiful surroundings of the iconic South Kensington Museum, across an impressive 1,000 square metres and beneath 76,000 twinkling fairy lights, the Ice Rink will be a magical winter haven in the heart of the city. With the early opening comes an exciting opportunity to experience the Ice Rink on the spookiest day of the year: Halloween. To celebrate its launch, skaters will be invited to take to the ice in Halloween costumes on the first day of opening.
Attracting beginners and advanced skaters alike, as well as those simply wanting to take in the festive atmosphere, an array of entertainment and events will also be available for visitors of all ages: a beautiful fairground carousel, a junior rink for younger skaters and delicious festive themed refreshments in the stylish Café Bar. Offering sumptuous food, warming drinks and creative cocktails, families can feast on delicious treats, colleagues can mingle over mulled wine and music, and couples can cosy up with a hot chocolate on the open-air balcony overlooking the Ice Rink.
On weekdays in November, the Ice Rink will hold special sessions for parents and toddlers, and for students who present their NUS card at the box office. Parents with pre-school children can enjoy special rate skating sessions and complimentary drinks for both adult and child in the cafe afterwards. Students will also benefit from an exclusive special rate and complimentary drink.
This year, the Ice Rink will again be partnering with the boutique Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, offering a range of fabulous festive hotel packages. See www.jumeirah.com/jlh for more details.
