About York Blues Festival
Paul Winn and Ben Darwin launched York Blues Festival in 2019 as a grassroots blues date. For 2027, the one-day music festival takes place at The Crescent, York, YO24 1AW on 17 April. The day runs 12:30 pm–11:00 pm. Its lane is blues, blues-rock, roots and rhythm & blues, with General Admission Standing at £30.
Who Is It For?
The audience is grassroots blues: seasoned blues heads and people getting into the form at venue level. Under-16s are not admitted. The 16+ restriction puts it outside family-festival territory, and the food and bar setup is built around an indoor concert venue.
The Venue and Site
The Crescent Community Venue occupies a former Working Men’s Club about five minutes on foot from York Rail Station. Capacity is 300. The concert room has a separate bar and toilets, with a fully licensed bar elsewhere in the venue and Pieminister food available until 9pm. The address is The Crescent, York, YO24 1AW.
