Since 1972 Wath Festival has been all about great music, community spirit and having a good time.
Some of the biggest names in roots music have played at Wath including, Fairport Convention, Lau, Show of Hands, Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds, Chas n Dave, Dougie McLean, The Doonan Family Band, Eliza Carthy, Martyn Joseph, The Strawbs, Martin Carthy, Cara Dillon & many more.
There unique tradition of Bunthrowing from the church tower on Saturday at noon, commenced at the bequest of local statesman Thomas Tuke in 1810, to distribute alms to the poor of Wath in the form of 40 dozen penny loaves.
