About Stendhal Festival

The Stendhal team first tried to get going in 2008; Stendhal Festival 2027 runs as a music festival at Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady, County Londonderry.

Council material says the event has taken place annually since 2011 and attracts several thousand people each year. The 2027 edition runs from 1 to 3 July. Its music brief spans rock, folk, pop, bluegrass and traditional sounds.

Lineup and Programme

More than 8 stages spread across the main arena, woodlands and Karma Valley shape the programme. Named stages include Karma Valley Stage and Stevie Martin Stage.

Live music sits alongside workshops, family entertainment and traditional arts. Comedy, poetry, theatre, sculpture and art installations also sit within the wider programme.

Who Is It For?

The audience is family-oriented and grassroots, with music and arts running alongside dedicated family entertainment. Family provision is explicit.

General admission is over 18s only unless an under-18 attends with a parent or guardian on a valid family ticket. IDs are checked for anyone who appears under 25, and under-18s cannot drink alcohol onsite.

The Venue and Site

Ballymully Cottage Farm puts the site in the Causeway Coast and Glens area, near the Causeway Coastal Route. The festival uses the main arena, woodlands and Karma Valley.

Camping splits into general, family, eco, campervan/caravan and accessibility areas. The family campsite is a 9-acre field, and site facilities include toilets, bins, security, first aid, family-campsite drinking water, nappy changing facilities and a feeding station.

Camping areas have no showers or electrical charging points.

Travel

Bellarena railway station is the closest station to Ballymully Cottage Farm. A shuttle bus runs to and from Limavady bus station on festival days.

• Road access: Ballyavelin Road, Drumsurn Road, Ballyleagry Road, Edenmore Road and Broad Road are listed routes.
• Parking: separate fields are used for adult weekend camping, eco camping, day visitors, accessibility camping and motorhomes via Gate A on Ballyavelin Road.
• Family parking: access uses the Drumsurn Road entrance.
• Blue-badge parking is limited and signposted, and park-and-ride can be activated if fields are too wet.
