Plymouth’s new music event – Ocean City Sounds – will take place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 July and tickets will go on sale this Friday (2 February) at 9am.

Tens of thousands of music fans are expected to head to Plymouth Hoe this summer to see some of their favourite acts perform at the two-day event, which builds on the success of MTV Crashes Plymouth. Previous years have seen acts including Little Mix, Rudimental, Kaiser Chiefs and Clean Bandit play to huge crowds in the city.

MTV and Plymouth City Council’s continued relationship will see media partner MTV supporting Ocean City Sounds on-air and digitally.  In addition, a TV highlights show – ‘MTV Presents Ocean City Sounds’ – will be produced at the event and broadcast on MTV in the UK.

This year, the first evening will see contemporary, chart-topping acts take to the stage, while the second will have a more retro feel, featuring classic acts from the 80s and 90s. Headline artists are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
