Moseley Folk & Arts Festival 2026

From 4–6 September 2026, Moseley Folk & Arts Festival returns to Moseley Private Park on Alcester Road, Birmingham. Set in an 11-acre woodland glade just south of the city centre, this intimate festival celebrates folk, indie, and acoustic music in a welcoming community atmosphere.

Music

Enjoy a diverse lineup of folk-inspired music across multiple stages, featuring trad folk, acoustic singer-songwriters, indie, and world music. The festival blends national headliners with local talent for a varied musical experience.

Community & Workshops

The festival embraces creativity with artisan stalls, dance lessons, instrument demos, and drumming circles. It offers a family-friendly environment with activities like face-painting, puppet shows, and storytelling.

Food & Drink

Food vendors serve a range of options including veggie curries, gourmet burgers, vegan and gluten-free treats. Locally brewed ales, cider, ice cream, and coffee are also available throughout the event.

Atmosphere

Known for its warm, inclusive vibe, Moseley Folk & Arts Festival feels like a community gathering under the trees. With no camping on-site, evenings end conveniently nearby, adding to its charm as a relaxing late-summer event.

Moseley Park is about 2 miles south of Birmingham city centre, along Alcester Road. The festival site is near the heart of Moseley Village, a vibrant neighbourhood full of shops and cafes. Because the park is so close to town, visitors have many travel options for getting here.

Public transport is very convenient. Plenty of buses run from Birmingham city centre to Moseley. You can catch the 35 or 50 bus from outside Moor Street station or on Digbeth High Street, and either one will drop you on Alcester Road within a short walk of the park entrance. The trip takes about 10–15 minutes from the city centre, and buses run frequently throughout the day and evening on weekends.

By train, Moseley is most easily reached via Birmingham's main stations. Arriving at New Street or Moor Street station (which have frequent services from London, Manchester, Edinburgh and beyond) gives you quick access to a taxi or a connecting bus to Moseley. For example, Moor Street station is only a few bus stops or a short taxi ride from the festival site. If you arrive by long-distance coach (for example, National Express or Megabus), you will likely arrive at Digbeth Coach Station or Birmingham International; from there, a local bus or a quick taxi can take you straight to Moseley Park.

By car, Moseley is reachable via the A38 or A435. From the south, take the M42 to Junction 3 and follow the A435 (Alcester Road) towards Birmingham; from the north or west, take the M6 and follow the A38(M) through the city, then head south towards Moseley. Once on Alcester Road, look for signs to Moseley Village or Moseley Park. Parking near the park is very limited, as the surrounding streets are residential. Many drivers choose to park a little farther out (in nearby Kings Heath or other Moseley suburbs) and then catch a local bus or a short taxi ride to the site. Also note that central Birmingham has a Clean Air Zone: if you drive through the city centre, check if a charge applies for your vehicle.

By air, Birmingham Airport (BHX) is the closest major airport (about 10 miles east of the city). From there, you can take a train to Birmingham New Street or Moor Street station, then transfer to a local bus or taxi to Moseley. East Midlands Airport and London airports have train or coach links into Birmingham city centre, from where you can continue your journey by local transport. For convenience, most festival visitors fly into Birmingham Airport and make the short onward trip to Moseley.

Accommodation is plentiful in Moseley and nearby. Moseley Village itself has some charming bed-and-breakfasts, guesthouses and small hotels if you want to stay very close. Birmingham city centre, just a few miles away, offers a wide range of hotels, hostels and apartments for all budgets. Staying in the city provides more dining and evening entertainment options, and it is still easy to travel between downtown and Moseley by bus or taxi. Festival weekends in Moseley can book up fast, so be sure to reserve your room in advance.
