Kingfishr
Kingfishr is an Irish folk group active since 2022. Formed in Limerick, the band consists of Eddie Keogh on vocals and guitar, Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath on banjo, and Eoin “Fitz” Fitzgibbon on bass. The three meet at the University of Limerick, and the end of Keogh’s previous band, elm094, leaves space for the new project to begin.
Background and influences
The group develops in an indie folk direction, with roots in the Irish folk scene. The members grow up listening to Mumford and Sons and U2, then move towards artists such as Dermot Kennedy, Ben Howard, We Banjo 3 and Bear’s Den.
Releases and chart success
Kingfishr release Live From Dublin in 2024. Their song “Killeagh” reaches number one on the Irish Singles Chart in 2025.
