About Green Man

Green Man 2027 runs in the Usk Valley, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, as a music festival built around indie, folk, alternative, rock, electronica, Americana and psychedelia.

The first edition took place at Craig-y-Nos Castle in the Brecon Beacons in 2003. In 2004 it moved to Baskerville Hall, Hay-on-Wye, and in 2006 it was staged at Glanusk Park in the Brecon Beacons.

Recent reporting puts capacity at 25,000. The festival is independent and no-corporate, with a programme that runs beyond music into science, comedy, film, literature and workshops.

Lineup and Programme

The bill leans into indie, folk, psychedelia, Americana and electronica, with DJs also part of the programme.

Listed stages and areas include Mountain's Foot / Mountain Stage, Far Out, Walled Garden, Rising, Chai Wallahs, Cinedrome, Last Laugh, Round the Twist, Wishbone, Babbling Tongues, Einstein’s Garden, Nature Nurture, The Courtyard, Little Folk, Fortune Falls, Somewhere, The Settlement, Pandemonium, Alchemy and Whimsy.

Comedy and film sit with Last Laugh and Cinedrome. Einstein’s Garden covers science talks and installations, while Babbling Tongues covers literature and talks.

Little Folk runs workshops and a parade for younger children. Somewhere carries teen workshops, and the Settlement includes extra-week programming.

Who Is It For?

Green Man’s audience is family-friendly and multi-generational, with a music-focused draw for indie, folk and electronic fans.

Little Folk covers babies to 11s, while Somewhere covers 12-17s. All under-18s must be accompanied by an adult over 21, with a maximum of four under-18s per adult.

Kids should not be within 2 metres of bar fronts. Under-15s are not admitted to Last Laugh after 10pm.

The Venue and Site

The festival site sits inside Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, with the address listed as NP8 1LP.

The Mountain Stage sits in a natural amphitheatre. The wider site includes General, Family and Quiet camping, which do not need pre-booking.

Live-in Vehicle and Accessible Camping do need pre-booking. Campsites have toilets, hot showers, fresh water taps, rubbish and recycling facilities, and must be emptied by 3pm on the Monday after the festival.

Campfires are prohibited, but raised BBQs are allowed. Facilities include bars, food stalls, a general store, first aid, secure lock-up, lost property and cash machines.

Accessible facilities include accessible showers and toilets, a changing places unit, charging point, mobility scooter and wheelchair hire, respite tent and medication fridge.

Travel

The site is in the Usk Valley, with Crickhowell about 3 miles away. Abergavenny is the closest station.

• Rail: Abergavenny is the closest station to Green Man.
• Road: Listed routes include the A40, A465, A4281, A4077, A479, B4560, B4558 and New Road in Crickhowell.
• Gates: Orange Gate, Settlers' Gate, Park & Ride/Bus Gate and Live-in Gate are the named access points.
• Parking: Orange Car Park, Settlement Car Park, Park & Ride and Live-in Vehicle parking are the main options. All cars require a car park ticket, and parking is on grass.
• Park & Ride: Park & Ride is a few miles from site with shuttle buses. The accessible car park is 100m from the box office and accessible campsite.
• Nearby places: Abergavenny is about 8.5 miles away, and Brecon is about 12 to 12.5 miles away.
