About Borderline Festival
Borderline began in 2024 as a two-night full-venue takeover at The Workman’s Club, launching with 15 artists. For 2027, Borderline Festival runs as a Dublin music festival at College Street, Ballsbridge from 18-20 February 2027. Simon Merriman is the festival founder.
By 2026, the festival had moved from a single-venue discovery weekender into a multi-venue setup with The Project Arts Centre alongside The Workman’s Club. That edition ran across two venues and four stages, with up to 40 artists.
Lineup and Programme
The bill leans toward emerging left-of-centre artists from Ireland and beyond. Live music runs through the Main Room and Cellar at The Workman’s Club, plus The Cube and Space Upstairs, with roaming between stages inside the ticketed venues.
Room access works on capacity. Movement between spaces is first come, first served.
Who Is It For?
18+ licensing sets the audience. Borderline is aimed at adults looking for emerging live music in intimate rooms rather than an outdoor arena setup.
The multi-room format suits a crowd willing to move between spaces, with entry to each room controlled by capacity.
The Venue and Site
The site is indoors, built around multi-floor and multi-room venues rather than camping fields. The Workman’s Club brings bars and room-to-room movement; Project Arts Centre adds accessible performance spaces, box office and access support.
Wheelchair spaces and an automated access door are part of the Project Arts Centre setup. Access to individual rooms remains subject to capacity.
