Pat Monahan

Pat Monahan is an American singer-songwriter from Erie, Pennsylvania. He is the lead singer and songwriter for Train and is also a solo artist. He is of Irish-American background.

Career

Monahan is best known as the frontman of Train, and he is also involved with Artists Against AIDS Worldwide. Alongside his work with the band, he collaborates with other artists and records as a solo performer.

He plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, percussion, saxophone, flute, electric violin, clarinet and trombone. His musical work spans rock, soft rock and alternative rock.

Solo work

Monahan releases his first solo album, Last of Seven, and follows it with a national tour. He later performs a smaller acoustic tour, which leads to Last of Seven Acoustic, a digital-only release.

The album includes the solo single Her Eyes, which reaches the top 10 of Billboard's Hot AC chart, and the follow-up single Two Ways to Say Goodbye. On the album, he duets with Brandi Carlile and features guest appearances by Richie Sambora and Graham Nash.

Collaborations and other recordings

Monahan appears on the multi-artist album Listen to Me, where he covers Buddy Holly's Maybe Baby.
