Nina Kraviz
Nina Kraviz is a Russian DJ, producer and occasional vocalist from Irkutsk, Russia, born in 1989. She first becomes interested in house music in the mid-1990s through radio, then later moves to Moscow to study dentistry.
Early work and MySpaceRocket
She briefly performs as part of the trio MySpaceRocket. The group releases one 12-inch single, Amok, in 2007. The track is a lean house piece with a deep bassline and Kraviz’s vocals, and the release includes a version by U.K. DJ Greg Wilson on the B-side.
Solo releases
Kraviz then begins releasing music under her own name and makes a notable appearance in 2009 with productions on Efdemin’s Naïf, Jus-Ed’s Underground Quality, and Matt Edwards’ REKIDS. In 2010 she issues several more singles, including a collaboration with Sascha Funke on BPitch Control. Her only single in 2011 is Ghetto Kraviz, which leads into her self-titled debut album on REKIDS.
Labels and style
Her recorded work is associated with the labels трип and Nina Kraviz Music, and her music is tagged across techno, deep house, house, IDM and dubstep.
