DJ Fresh

DJ Fresh is the alias of British drum and bass producer Dan Stein. He is a co-owner of Breakbeat Kaos and is associated with UK drum and bass, jungle and electronic music.

Career

As DJ Fresh, Stein is part of the lineage of Bad Company UK / )E|3( and later releases music as a solo artist. He builds a reputation as a prolific UK drum and bass producer, and in 2009 Knowledge Magazine describes him as a major influence on the genre.

His single Louder, with Kosheen vocalist Sian Evans, appears in a Lucozade Lite advertising campaign in the UK and Ireland and becomes his first UK number one. It is described as the first UK dubstep number one. The follow-up single, Hot Right Now, becomes the first drum and bass number one in the UK.
