This morning Capital Liverpool exclusively revealed Fusion Festival is coming to town. Following the huge success of last year’s festival which saw Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and The Vamps play to more than 50,000 music fans Fusion Festival is teaming up with Capital Liverpool.

Now in its fourth year, Fusion has grown into one of the UK’s most popular music festivals.  The move to Liverpool coincides with the city being declared as a UNESCO City of Music due to music’s place at the heart of Liverpool’s contemporary culture, education and economy.  Liverpool has a rich music history and Fusion Festival 2016 will add a huge dash of pop magic to this wonderful city.

Fusion Festival 2016 continues its long-term partnership with Capital to bring some of the world’s biggest stars and the best live hit music to town.

Damien Sanders, Event Director of Fusion Festival says "We are so excited to finally announce that Fusion is coming to Liverpool. We have been working behind the scenes with Capital on plans for months now and it feels great to finally reveal all. Liverpool is such a vibrant, fun city that we can’t wait to become part of its musical fabric – exciting times indeed.”

Graham Sarath, Capital Liverpool’s commercial director  said: “We started 2016 by bringing the UK’s number one hit music station to Liverpool and now we are joining Fusion to bring this incredible festival to the city.  We know how much our listeners love festivals.  Fusion attracts some of the hottest acts around so we’re over the moon to be involved in bringing Fusion to Liverpool.”

Liverpool’s Culture Director, Claire McColgan said: “We’re delighted that Fusion Festival is heading to Liverpool and it’s a real coup that this city is going to host yet another major music event this year which will bring with it a creative and economic boost to the area.

“We’re massively proud of the fact that commercial operators with the calibre of Fusion are looking at Liverpool to stage their events – it’s in line with our UNESCO City of Music status and reinforces the fact that we place music at the heart of Liverpool’s contemporary culture.”
